Tela provides on-going assistance and hands-on support to enable Port of Leith’s business growth.

Background

Since 1975, Port of Leith Housing Association has held the same ambition: to improve the quality of life for citizens of Edinburgh by investing in its most-loved neighbourhoods. During this time, they have pumped over £190m into the ongoing regeneration of Leith and North Edinburgh, providing a vast range of quality homes at fair prices for the people of the Scottish capital. Today, they own and manage over 2,700 affordable homes and have helped nearly 500 individuals into employment or further education in the last 10 years – but their mission does not end here. Port of Leith Housing Association aims to continue on the foundations it has built to deliver individual support and promote the overall wellbeing of the community.

The Challenge

As a direct customer of a major mobile network provider, Port of Leith Housing Association had previously felt supported in their communications. However, as their business expanded and the scope of the work broadened, they began to outgrow their mobile network operator. What was once a sufficient service, no longer reflected their requirements with some areas of the business-facing cost heavy tariffs that didn’t support their individual needs. Port of Leith Housing Association was in need of a fresh perspective – so, they decided to explore other available options to find the best fit partner for their business.

The Solution

After demonstrating superior credentials across business planning, account management, billing and implementation, Tela were selected by Port of Leith Housing Association to drive innovation, improve efficiency and deliver a service to mirror their ambitious growth targets. Having been awarded a 24-month contract, Tela immediately began rolling out new network SIMs for all field-based operatives to be used with their existing fleet of unlocked handsets.

With this alone, Port of Leith Housing Association would benefit from enhanced connectivity and greater flexibility, but we knew there was more to be done. With the growth of the business showing no signs of slowing down, we believed it was high time they received dedicated customer service from their mobile network operator.

So, Tela provided Port of Leith Housing Association with a Customer Support Manager to run monthly reports on device usage and deploy a strict procedure to implement call barring and data capping. This level of knowledge comes from a comprehensive understanding of the business and a commitment to ensuring a shock-free monthly bill. Now, our client can easily track their spending and measure monthly usage to ensure they are receiving the best tariff for their business.
